BURNOUT: A MOMENT OF GROWTH
In 2016, I experienced a burnout. Although it was not something I wanted, it ultimately became a valuable and educational period in my life. It taught me to better recognize and respect my personal boundaries, and to make choices that support my well-being. As a result, I now feel more grounded and confident in my own strength.
This experience also helped me grow as a therapist. I now better understand which forms of support and tools are essential in the recovery process. For that reason, we do not approach burnout as a weakness or a setback, but as a moment that can lead to personal growth and meaningful change.
THE APPROACH;
Together, we explore the underlying causes of the burnout and how your personal boundaries may have been crossed. From this understanding, we formulate a clear treatment goal together - what would you like to change, restore, or strengthen in your life?
We also focus on restoring balance in the body by learning how to relax, reduce stress, and rebuild energy. To feel mentally stronger, it is equally important for the body to regain strength and resilience.
BUILDING YOUR INNER STRENGTH:
Alongside the work we do together during the sessions, you will also learn exercises that you can practice independently. In this way, you can actively support your recovery at home and become more aware of the signals of your body.
WHAT DOES A SESSION LOOK LIKE?
During the sessions, we combine conversation with bodywork, such as massage, relaxation exercises, and breathing techniques. These methods help the muscles relax on a deeper level and bring the body into a state of calm.
When the body relaxes, the overstimulated nervous system can begin to re-balance. This supports calmer breathing, reduces stressful thought cycles, and lowers the release of stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol.
Through this combination of conversation and bodywork, you gradually build a stronger sense of well-being and mental stability.
